Press Release   •   Sep 27, 2016 15:58 BST

The spotlight is on Paris this week as the hottest new models take to the catwalk to showcase the most exciting designer trends.

But don't worry if you couldn't get ‘frow’ at Paris fashion week, Expedia.co.uk has its own set of fashion insiders on the ground in London - recently voted the top city for shopping in the entire world* - and across the globe to help you get the most out of your shopping experience.

Be it London, Paris, Madrid or even Copenhagen, Expedia's new online shopping hub highlights hidden gems that local fashionistas frequent helping you avoid those tourist traps and give you a truly unique shopping experience.

So get online, get inspired and get shopping!

Redchurch Street: Spitalfields

If you’re looking to try fresh and edgier styles from up and coming designers, then this is London’s trendiest shopping area. Head to Redchurch Street where you can find high-end, mostly London-based designers selling items worthy of their trendy Shoreditch home. For clothing, head to Hostem, APC, Sunspel, Kit and Ace, Modern Society and Club Monaco, or pick up some usual shoe designs from Tracey Neuls.

It's also home to Sunday’s fabulous Spitalfields Market, where cutting-edge designers display their creations, while Brick Lane and Dray Walk are full of quirky shops and vintage dens.

Afterwards head over to Boxpark, a series of shipping containers that have been turned into a hip mini mall. Come here to search out small and pop-up boutiques for something unique.

Don’t miss Old Spitalfields Market, with its array of stalls selling affordable fashion under a beautiful Victorian arcade.

Dover Street

If you’re looking to shop designs in London straight off the catwalk in a quirky setting, then look no further. The six-storey concrete indoor market allows you to shop by designer with areas devoted to Simone Rocha’s gowns, Loewe’s block prints and Paul Smith’s quintessentially British Designs.

Whist there you’ll also discover statement jewellery, handbag and shoe collections to complete any look from Japanese designer Harumi, London’s Goldsmith expert Jo Hayes Ward and New York’s Diane Kordas.

Canal St Martin

Channeling the quirky trends of London's Shoreditch overseas is Canal St Martin in Paris.

Better known for its quaint waterside views and apéro spots than for the shopping, it’s easy to miss out on some very interesting retail therapy in Canal Saint Martin. So here’s the key to the quartier– Rue de Marseille and Rue Beaurepaire– as long as you have these two neighbouring streets on your radar, you’ll be on the right track.

Wander in and out of converted old Parisian ateliers with a Williamsburg NYC retail vibe, discovering hip young brands and concept boutiques. You can also find a few end-of-season outlets for Sandro, Maje and Claudie Pierlot too.

Salamanca

If you can't kick your desinger bond street obsession, then try the Salamanca in Mardid.

Know as the The Golden Mile, it’s the most affluent district in Madrid. The Spanish upper classes and media characters frequent Salamanca’s designer shops and exclusive restaurants. Calle de Velázquez, Calle de Serrano, Calle de Goya and the surrounding streets showcase both Spanish and international fashion designers.

Try Calle de Serrano for one of the most ‘exclusive’ streets in Spain, which hosts the location of high-end department stores such as El Jardín de Serrano and popular brands Gucci and Emporio Armani.

Unparalleled service and exclusive products, it’s impressive list of flagship stores are sure to include those making an appearance at Milan’s Fashion Week.

Corso Buenos Aires

Looking for an all-round shopping experience that Oxford Circus has to offer? Corso Buenos Aires is reputed to be Europe’s longest shopping street with over 350 international ready-to-wear brands. The 1km-long street offers one of the highest concentrations of clothing stores in Europe and is a great place to pick up some designer looks and also more afford high street trends.

The bustling road features some of the city’s more affordable shops including Gucci, Desigual United Colors of Benetton and Boggi.
