EXPEDIA.CO.UK RETURNS TO TELEVISION

New advertising campaign airs as part of travel firm’s brand relaunch

London, 3rd May 2010– Expedia.co.uk, the UK’s leading online travel booking website, today announces its return to television advertising. The advert highlights the company’s aim of providing the best travel booking experience for its customers with a concept based around the £40million Expedia customers saved just by booking their flights and hotel together. It is voiced by comedian David Mitchell from Channel 4’s Peep Show.

Stephen Davis, head of brand marketing & research, Expedia EMEA says, “We’ve created an ad that illustrates the building blocks of a holiday - a couple consider the different components involved in constructing their perfect getaway, with a sprinkling of humour along the way. It really highlights the way we help our customers save money.”

Forming part of the company’s global rebrand, Expedia’s first television advert in two years will be aired from Monday 3rd May across a variety of channels including ITV, Channel 4 and Sky. Meteorite is the creative agency behind the campaign, which has been directed by Giles Greenwood and produced by Great Guns.
